The Ministry of Roads and Highways, acting through the Department of Urban Roads has awarded the contract for the construction of 100km of roads in nine (9) sub-metros within Kumasi to ADK Consortium Limited as the Project Consultants responsible for the Engineering Design Reviews and Construction Supervision and CONTRACTA Construction UK Ltd as the Contracting Engineers.

Sub Road Metros include; Asokwa, Bantama, Kwadaso, Manhyia, Nhyiaeso, Oforikrom, Suame, Subin, Tafo Pankrono.

The Project is being financed through a credit facility guaranteed by the UK Government and is expected to run for 24 months with a 12-month Defect Liability period having commenced in February 2020.

Parameters:

Road Length: 100 Kilometres

Carriageway: (i) Raising certain low lying sections of the roadway with Natural Gravel Fill Material, and laying a Sub-Base of well-graded Natural Gravel Material and a Stabilized Base of 60% Gravel and 40% Crushed stone before applying Double Bituminous Surface Dressing.
