Client: Ministry of Roads and Highways

Implementing Agency: Ghana Highway Authority

Contractor: Kofi Job Construction Ltd

Consultant: ADK Consortium Limited

Funding: Government of Ghana

Completion Duration: 24 Months

The Ministry of Finance representing the Government of the Republic of Ghana has made a multi-year commitment from the 2024 – 2026 medium-term budgetary allocations for eligible payment under this agreement for the implementation of a Project known as “Dualization of Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben Road Project (20KM)”.

It is part of the national route 10 which stretches from Obuasi junction to the Western Region, all the way to Paga in the Upper East Region. The 20-kilometre stretch is being executed by Kofi Job Company Limited with the implementing agency being the Ghana Highways Authority.

The primary objective of the reconstruction is to reduce travel time, improve mobility and ensure the safe and efficient transportation of goods and people. It includes the provision of asphaltic concrete pavement with 50mm binder and wearing courses, each to ensure a durable and high-quality road surface; the provision of two grade-separated interchanges to reduce congestion at critical points and the provision of service lanes on both sides of the main carriageway from 10 to 20 km to ensure smoother and safer access to adjoining properties and minor roads.

The dualization of the Anwiankwanta – Ahenema Kokoben Road will address the perennial congestion experienced on this road, which has affected the movement of goods to towns such as Ahenema Kokoben, Brofoyeduru, Kotwi, Trede, Adjamesu Dominase, Ofoase Kokoben, Anwiankwanta, Bekwai, and Obuasi.

ADK Consortium having been appointed as Project Consultant, is tasked to ensure that the Contractor executes the construction as per design specifications and also to deliver the project within the stipulated completion time. ADK’s team of Engineers and Surveyors have so far guided the construction and is poised to see the completion of this critical road project.
